10 Reasons to Smile

This blog is called "Just Have Fun and Enjoy Your Life", and the sign of someone who enjoyed his/her life is by the smile. Smiling is look like a simple thing, but do you know if that action has a great effects?

Smile also benefits both for the giver and the taker, even to someone else who accidentally saw your smile. So now let's see these 10 reasons why we must smile often:

1. Smile gives you a better look
Not even the most beautiful/handsome people in the world will look interesting if they weren't smiling. No matter how you thinking about yourself, when you're smiling others will think better of you.

2. It changes your mood
Try to smile when you're feeling down or gloomy. It might be difficult, but if you can produce a nice firm and loose smile, you'll feel lighter.

3. It affects other people to smile back
Smiling is like influenza, it contagious. When you're smiling to a person, big chance he/she will smiles back to you. Prove it!

4. It reduces your stress
All troubles and pressures, either it from work or daily life, also always come with a way out or solution. Smile is the first step to find that way.

5. Smile increases your body immune system
This one is a medical fact and has been proven. Your immune system is directly related with your body state. Smile makes you relax, thus improves your immune.


6. It also reduces your blood pressure
Same with before. You even can prove it by checking your blood pressure at home. See how smiling can reduce your blood pressure.

7. It seduces your brain to release endorphin and serotonin hormones
These both hormones are a natural painkiller, this make smile as a natural medicine.

8. Stretch your face skin, thus make you looks younger
Smile is also work of a muscle. When you're smiling you also give a workout to your face muscle, make your skin more elastic and gives a younger appearance.

9. It makes you have a better confidence
Try to smiling when you're on a meeting, presentation, or in your first date. It will makes you looks like a successful and confident person.

10. It makes you stay positive
Smile right now. Then, think about your bad past experiences. See how the smile gone? That's because when you're smiling it send a signal to your body that everything is all right.

A Simple Magic Trick

This blog has already got funny pictures, brain teaser, dummy jokes, comics and cartoons, inspirational quotes, and weird news from around the world. It kinda bored me though, so now I want to add a new category, magic tricks. I think this can be an entertaining hobby for us, and become a part of having fun in our life.

Let's start with the simple one. Many magic or illusion actually can be described in common sense. Some other tricks also can be broke by using mathematical algorithm. Our first trick will be how to guess somebody's birth date.

Below are 5 sets of numbers arranged in 4x4 square. How about your own birth date as example? First, search your birth date in the series of square below, then make note in which sets your birth date appears?

Set 5

For example, if you born in the date of 27, then number 27 is appeared in set 1, 2, 4, and 5. Then to discover your birth date, add the top left number of the sets where your birth date appear. That means 1+2+8+16=27. Voila!

Well, sorry if this is no David Copperfield's trick, but this is only the beginning. I will be back with more complicated and fun tricks next time.

Funny License Plates

There is a kind of funny and weird license plate that become a trend lately. Check this license plate picture below for example. Nothing weird or unusual about it, right?


Now, try to flip it upside down, what do you see?


Of course you're not hoping by rotate your plate like that you're not gonna stopped by a police officer on the street. But that's just an example. Many people customized their private number plates legally, meaning it's allowed by the law.

So, why going private? Well, with all the tense of driving, speeding people, traffic jam, horn honking everywhere, there's a good thing to light up the street a bit. Let people see your customized plate number and make them happy and smile.

Nowadays, you almost can freely designed your plate number as you like it. You can write anything that cross in your mind as long as it's not abusive. This trend also has spread in many countries across Europe, nut just in United States. I personally think this kind of creativity is good, it can attracts people and make driving hours more cheerful.

Well, if you don't actually own a car, you still can have this kind of plate numbers just for decoration. You can place it in your store, cafe, or just in your room. Of course you don't need a license if you're not gonna use it on the street.

Mathematical Equation

I have a little problem with this mathematical equation below. Can any of you help me to solve this paradox?



That equation seems to be true, but actually there is a logical explanation about this mathematical paradox.

The Answers

The 64 = 65 paradox arises from the fact that the edges of the four pieces, which lie along the diagonal of the formed rectangle, do not coincide exactly in direction. This diagonal is not a straight segment line but a small lozenge (diamond-shaped figure), whose acute angle is arctan 2/3 - arctan 3/8 = arctan 1/46 which is less than 1 degree 15'.

Only a very precise drawing can enable us to distinguish such a small angle. Using analytic geometry or trigonometry, we can easily prove that the area of the "hidden" lozenge is equal to that of a small square of the chessboard.

Okay, sorry, I didn't even understand myself about that answer that I wrote up there. To make it simple: there is a "hole" in that picture, try to redraw that equation and you'll realize that those just a nice optical illusion.

Japanese Crazy Restaurant

After a long break, this is my first post in 2010. Happy New Year everybody! Hopefully this year gonna be better than last year.

Couple months ago I posted about how crazy Japanese people with their fashion, and I guess they never cease to amazed me with their lifestyle. This time I like to show some funny pictures about Japanese restaurant. Some of their restaurants really adore toilet seat, that they served their meal on a toilet shape plates!

That's not all, even their guest chair also shaped like a toilet seat! What a bold innovation by those Japanese cooks.
