Nyotaimori - Japanese Body Sushi

It's time to check out more about Japanese fun culture. If you think that Japanese Crazy Restaurant is outrageous, wait until you see this one. Nyotaimori (女体盛り), usually translated as "female body presentation", while it literally refers to something more like "piling something on top". It's an extremely rare practice of serving sashimi or sushi from the body of a woman, typically naked.

While it looks fun for the restaurant's visitors, it's definitely not for the women who act as the plate. You don't have to be a feminist to feel empathy for them. Dinner usually can take up to 2-3 hours, and they have to stay still all the time. Not to mention that their body also need to be kept in cold temperature, as sushi is best served cold.

While Nyotaimori's origin is obviously from Japan, it's actually has been quite a rare practice there. It can be said as an underground activity, which need a special invitation to get in. You probably gonna find it easier to looking for a Nyotaimori restaurants and events overseas, like in London, New York, or Florida, where it's still considered as an art.

Fun or Not:
